Edward Weston was born in Illinois in 1886 and began taking photographs at the age of only 15. Something very interesting about this photographer is that he taught himself. He focused on the truth of materials and everyday subjects. For example a lot of his photographs are close ups of vegetables and fruits that focus on the detail and the odd shapes of them. His most famous photos were the ones he took that were very sharp. This type of photography in which he focused on is called "straight" photography.

I think the difference and between the two photographs but it's also interesting how you kept similarity. I'm not exactly sure what the object of the first picture is -- an onion? Anyway, I like how you also took an everyday object and manipulated it into something unordinary.

I really like the reflection of distortion in your image from the artist's photograph, it represents it well.

I like how it still reflects its true form even though it has been changed.

I like how you used a plain and simple background just like the original photo. It helps emphasize your main idea in your photo.
